Faux Finish Granite Countertop

Here’s a great faux finish project from our customer Dee and her husband. Keep reading to learn about the process they used to achieve the look of real granite without the hefty price tag.

My hubby wanted a granite countertop but I didn’t want to pay $900 or more for a piece of granite. We did a ton of research and decided to make our own “granite” countertop. We started with a piece of MDF and cut it to the exact dimensions we needed for our space. We began the faux finishing process by priming the MDF, then we used a sponge painting technique with various shades of black and brown paint until we achieved the look we wanted. Finally, we used Envirotech lite over it for a durable finish. Check out the video links below to see our entire process.” -Dee
